This four story house is facing a busy main road in Kensington. The client wanted a screening visual barrier from the road, in formal style, in green and white palette and with low maintenance.
The pleached hornbeams are semi deciduous trees which keep their brown leaves over winter until spring when new leaves come to sprout and replace the old brown foliage. A metal bespoke planter was installed at the front fence with a mix of trailing white flowering plants. Underneath the pleached trees, we planted a low box hedge with box topiary balls and filled with summer or winter white planting. The summer climbing flowers and the winter flowering Sarcococca add a nice perfume when passing by.
