For this weekend home, nested in the hills surrounding Madrid, the brief was to re-establish native planting around it, and block the unwanted views of a nearby industrial park and motorway in the distance. Over a hundred native Quercus trees were planted already in the first phase of the project.

The big sloped flower bed between the house and the swimming pool will be planted by a mixture of evergreen Mediterranean planting and grasses with minimal water needs. The new vegetable garden and orchard will offer fresh produce of fruits, vegetable and cut flowers for this young family.
